While I enjoy a good bottle of wine, I really relish receiving wine gift baskets. It was about this time last year that one of my vendors sent me a year end wine gift basket.  It was the best present I received from any of my vendors or colleagues.  While I am not sure that all wine baskets are of the same level, I was lucky enough to receive a well put-together gift basket.

The 2 wines that were in the basket were from small wineries in California. One was located in Napa while the other was in Santa Barbara.  The Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara was crazy good.  The gift basket also had some nuts, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, chocolate, and I think some mustard from Napa.  Not only did I like the basket, so did my wife.  Based on my own reaction, I am going to send out some wine gift baskets this year end as well.

A wine of the month club is a good way to get more educated about wine. Most clubs send you info about the wines your receive, how they where made, what they pair well with.  By joining one of these clubs you will receive lots of different styles of wines which in turn will help you develop your own appreciation of what you fancy and what you could do without.

When joining a wine club, set your budget and then shop around to make sure your get the best wines for your buck. Some clubs look like good deals, but just end up sending you poor wines.  Don’t be afraid to spend a little more, the wines will be worth it.

There is a debate among my friends as to what is better health wise, Tea or Coffee?

From the reading I have done, I believe the answer is tea if you drink the right type of tea.  Many of the herbal teas really don’t do anything negative to the body and if you are going to consume a caffeinated tea it should probably be green tea.

While tea may be better for you (or at least less harmful), I sure am not planning on giving up my morning cup of Joe. Luckily, I am go with just one cup as I know many folks consume much more and probably are on the bad end long-term of what coffee might do to them.
